Athens, GA – On Thursday Dec 4th, hundreds of smiling children and adults lined the streets for the annual Athens-Clarke County Downtown Parade of Lights.

Light covered trees decorated the route as over 60 businesses and community groups marched in the annual parade. “The Twelve Days of Christmas” was this year’s theme.

Robert Barron, owner of AAMCO Athens at 2120 West Broad Street, entered a float in the parade for the very first time and won for “Most Original Idea”.

Robert had helped his daughter with a float in last year’s parade and said he’d been thinking about an idea for a float to enter ever since.

“We thought participating in the parade would be a wonderful way to say thank you and give back to the community we serve,” said Robert Barron of AAMCO Athens, provider of dependable total car care services for Athens, GA and surrounding areas.

The parade concluded with the arrival of Santa Claus and the lighting of the community Christmas tree in front of City Hall.
